Department 22 - Major Contests
Major Contests (Dept 22) occur throughout the week, to encourage a spirit of competition, good sportsmanship, and a sense pride in the accomplishments of those who participate.
The Mountain Man Competition challenges the competitors in the skills of:
- Muzzleloader Shoot (Class A)
- Fire Starting with flint and steel
- Tomahawk Throw
- Archery Shoot (Class A)
Truck & Tractor Pulls occur daily at the Track and include Tractor pulls, ATV and 4x4 Truck pulls, and a Kiddie Tractor Pull.
The Fair Queen pageant is open to young women who demonstrate a desire to serve and promote the fair.
Baking Contests provide a forum for the winners to compete at the state level.
